* We are in the market to purchase a catering truck. A catering truck would allow us to continue to offer free food service during the harsh winter months, to serve two locations at once during the spring and summer, as well as to drive to more rural areas where the food truck cannot get. Please note a catering truck is far different from a food truck - it is the size of a pickup truck and has a cold and warm holding side for food. We will cook all of the food in the food truck, load the catering truck and deliver the food with the catering truck.
* 180, the subsidiary nonprofit of The Torch, is partnering with Howell High School for the 2016-2017 school year. We will be working with a group of students who have different disabilities to create a one of a kind sub shop within the school system. By the end of the year the shop will be 100% run by the students and this group of students will then go on to train next years class, and so on, in order to create a sustainable shop within Howell High School.
* We are also in the process of raising funds for our own building for 180, to create a one of a kind restaurant dining experience. Having our own kitchen and classroom would allow us to offer year round training for students with disabilities. This would also allow us to open the restaurant for business and let the students practice serving the public and to create a unique, one of a kind, dining experience that will be sure to blow your socks off.
