Have a ? - we might have an answer :)
Where do you take the food truck each week?
We have a weekly route we take the food truck on, however we NEVER advertise where we will be with the truck when we take the food truck into private neighborhoods for multiple reasons: 1) we 100% respect the privacy of those we serve and would never want to advertise where people are living. I’m fact, we have privacy agreements with the communities we serve. We are invited into communities to serve free meals from the food truck and do our best to respect the neighbors we go into, as well as the privacy of each resident. 2) If we did publicly advertise where we would be with the food truck we would have no idea how many people we would be serving and how much food to buy, would have too much traffic flowing in/out of the communities we serve, and we would blow our budget. Please remember all donations go to feed those in need, and we do our best to serve everyone with dignity, respect and privacy.
When we do have public events, we gladly advertise those, as they are open to any and everyone.

How much do you get paid for operating The Torch?
One of the things we are most proud of in regards to The Torch is that nobody, including either co-founder, takes a single cent for running The Torch. We believe wholeheartedly we are called to help people because they are people, and not because a paycheck is attached to the help. The Torch is built off the principle that 100% of ALL donations go right back into keeping the food truck on the road, purchasing food, paying for propane and diesel for the food truck, and covering all operating expenses.
How is The Torch sustained?
The Torch continues to run thanks to generous donors and their willingness to help others. We rely heavily on gas cards, grocery gift cards, and monthly donors to keep the food truck on the road. We also apply for grants and hold fundraising events to help cover the operational costs.
Do you only serve Livingston County?
No, we do not only serve Livingston County, however that is currently where most of our weekly stops and work does take place. We also go to Washtenaw, Oakland and Ingham counties with the food truck/catering truck and are licensed to go anywhere in the state of Michigan with the truck. We also are now active in Inglewood, California with our first expansion.
What church are you affiliated with?
We are NOT affiliated with any church. We do attend church, and several different denominational churches do support us financially as their missionaries and with volunteers, but we are a privately founded, and run, nonprofit.
